Interior Application Information

Bristol Finish Classic Clear Water Based Urethane requires the same basic prep as ordinary coatings, but the application is both easier and faster. Save almost 75% of the labor compared with ordinary coating products!

Preparation Procedures

New or Bare Wood: Sand as required up to 220 grit. Remove dust and wipe with acetone. Wipe with a tack rag. Apply 1 or 2 coats of any commercial sanding sealer, following manufacturer’s instructions. Sand as required to level raised grain. Remove dust and wipe with a tack rag.

Previously Finished Surfaces: New coatings should be allowed to cure fully before over-coating with Classic Clear Water Based Urethane. Check compatibility on a small area before coating large areas.

Sand with 220 grit until smooth and dull. Use a red ScotchBrite pad for sharp corners and edges. Remove dust with a clean damp towel, then lightly wipe with a tack rag.

Application Procedures
Stir thoroughly before using. Use bristle or foam brushes, rollers or spray equipment. Use a floor coating applicator for large flooring areas. Apply a thin even coat with the grain of the wood. Allow to dry for a minimum of 1 hour. Apply a second coat when the first coat is not tacky. If grain raising has occurred or first coat has dried longer than 4 hours, sand with 220 grit. Remove dust with a clean damp towel, then wipe with a tack rag, and apply the second coat. More coats may be applied if desired.

Clean equipment thoroughly with water. Clean up spills immediately
